I love simple crochet projects because I have a super short attention span. This handmade crochet bowl pattern is awesome for creating little organizational bowls for your desk or living room.
They crochet up really quick, so it makes it easy to share a few. Make a big batch and wrap up sets for the holidays.
You will love this…
You can read about how to make your own t-shirt yarn in an earlier blog post of mine. It’s a great way to recycle old shirts and turn them into something fabulous!
For this project I wanted to try Lion Brand’s new Fettuccini yarn. It’s a great alternative to making your own t-shirt yarn. I bought it at Joann’s, but it doesn’t seem to be available at all of the locations yet.
No Joann’s near you and no old t-shirts? You can find more t-shirt yarns available on Amazon right here.
Gather a couple things…
- T-shirt yarn {handmade by you or from the store}
- Size P-15 crochet hook
- scissors
These are my very plain directions…experts cover your eyes. Start by making a chain. For step-by-step instructions including lots of photos, see my post on Everything Etsy.
- Chain 3
- Slip stitch into the first chain you made to create a ring.
- Chain 1
- Single crochet 8 into the center of the ring.
- Chain 1
- Single crochet in each stitch – You’ll single crochet 16 for the round.
- Chain 1
- Single crochet in the next stitch, single crochet 2 times in the next stitch and repeat the pattern for this row. You’ll single crochet a total of 24 for this row.
- Chain 1
- Single crochet around for four rows total.
- Slip stitch into the next stitch.
- Trim away the extra yarn and you’re done.
